ABOUT CAMP
From the Hook to the Bridge is a songwriting camp for youth ages 13 to 17, committed to offering music education that is relevant, engaging, accessible, and affordable. Is a tune constantly playing in your head? Are you always listening to music? Do you have a passion for crafting feelings into songs? With the guidance of professional songwriters, musicians, and poets, you will explore the creative process of writing songs. You will participate in vocal mechanics and songwriting sessions and learn the nuances of turning emotions into lyrics.
From the Hook to the Bridge will focus on evolving songwriting skills. Students will receive lunch and snacks. We have a limited number of sponsorships available. Transportation is also available from Pontiac and Detroit. All camp activities take place on the campus of Christ Church Cranbrook.
From the Hook to the Bridge is part of Cranbrook Project's new summer programming dedicated to youth, arts, and education. We believe in the transformative power of self-expression through the arts. Our camp encourages creative thinking and empowers natural gifts with fundamental skills, confidence, and opportunity. This camp will serve Oakland and Wayne County communities with unique engagement with the cities of Detroit and Pontiac.
To apply, complete our camp application and submit the camp registration fee of $125.
